The Federal Reserve won't announce a taper of its economic stimulus
program in December at Wednesday's meeting. Janet Yellen has indicated
that she will tie the taper to improvement in unemployment, and while
the unemployment rate has dropped slightly in recent months, it has not
been significantly reduced. The taper will most likely happen in 2014,
Ronald Gelok Associates' Ronald Gelok tells TheStreet's Joe Deaux.
Market confidence and China buying U.S. debt will also have an impact on
when the Fed will begin tapering.
